In business since 2008, our mission is to aid in the development of cultural identities in children by offering bilingual storybooks in multiple languages and cultures so that they can have characters with which to identify and grow..

Our founder, Laura, developed the idea when she was studying Chinese in graduate school. She wanted to read authentic material with English on the facing page, but struggled to find interesting books anywhere, even in Chinatown! As a result, she set out to design a bookstore that would offer interesting, but simple, books for language learners of all ages. After she started the bookstore, Laura discovered the needs of multicultural children were not being met. Understanding the challenges from her own childhood, growing up in a Korean/American household, Laura decided to meet this need.
